The Community Table Kitchen Café and Marketplace at BCH is following all COVID-19 safety measures by disinfecting all equipment and frequently touched spaces every 30 minutes.

Do Good by Eating Well at the CTK Café and Marketplace

Tucked away in the retail wrap on the east side of the Della Cava Family Medical Pavilion garage is a new café that’s helping to change the story of homelessness in our community.

The café and marketplace is the latest example of Bridge House’s unrelenting pursuit to create opportunities for adults experiencing homelessness. It's also an excellent way to provide healthy, affordable, convenient café offerings for BCH employees, patients, neighbors and other guests.

The CTK Café is the latest step in an expanding partnership between Bridge House, Boulder Community Health and the BCH Foundation. In 2018, BCH staff began making regular rounds at Bridge House facilities to provide medical case management to their clients experiencing homelessness through funding from BCH Foundation’s Community Collaboration Fund. In addition, BCH has hired graduates of Bridge House’s Ready to Work program for full-time positions in the organization and the Foundation have used the CTK catering service for multiple events.

Guided by our vision of partnering to create and care for the healthiest community in the nation, we recognize that it’s crucial to address homelessness. Although there’s no easy solution to this complex problem, we believe we can have a real impact through thoughtful strategic partnerships such as the one with Bridge House.

New Ready to Work-run cafe at Boulder Community Health campus helps address homelessness

“Having a cafe on site is an even tighter connection,” McDevitt said. “… Our philosophy in addressing homelessness is integrating people into the community as much as possible. Get people stabilized first with a job in the workforce, and the goal is to help people graduate into careers.”

The CTK Café and Marketplace is supported by the BCH Foundation Community Collaboration Fund and seed funding from a number of individuals committed to the work of Bridge House and BCH.
